
The Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Council (PAFC) Election was successfully held on July 21, 2026, at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in Lucena City under the supervision of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA). During the election, Atimonan Municipal Agriculture and Fisheries Council (MAFC) Chairperson Demosthenes Hernandez was elected as the new PAFC Chairperson.
The election was conducted in an orderly and peaceful manner with the participation of representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (PCAF), and officials from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.
Around 40 representatives and officials from various agriculture and fisheries sectors, including Presidents of Farmers’ Confederations and MAFC Chairpersons from different municipalities across Quezon Province, took part in the electoral process.
The newly elected PAFC officials were formally proclaimed at the conclusion of the program. They are expected to lead initiatives, advocate for policies, and strengthen programs that will support the continued growth and development of the agriculture and fisheries sector in Quezon Province /Angel Sabate
