
The three-day training was conducted on July 29 – 31, 2026 by the Food Processing Unit of the Agricultural Support Services Division in collaboration with the Agri-Enterprise Development Division and the PRDP Unit of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) of the Provincial Government of Quezon.
Ms. Mylene L. Lavadia discussed the proper procedures for pineapple processing, while Mr. Roberto Mercialles Jr. talked about appropriate packaging and labeling techniques for pineapple products. The training also highlighted the importance of complying with food processing standards to ensure product quality, safety, and market readiness.
The program likewise featured a Values Orientation session led by Ms. Nieves Sarte, who emphasized the significance of discipline, teamwork, responsibility, and good work ethics in managing a successful agribusiness. Meanwhile, Ms. Dana Diana Anales underscored the role of PRDP projects in improving the livelihoods of farmers.
At the end of the training, the Farmers’ Association of Brgy. Nieva, Inc. thanked the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) and the Provincial Government of Quezon for their continued support and the valuable knowledge and skills provided. The organization aims to apply what they learned to enhance their livelihoods, produce high-quality and marketable pineapple products, and further strengthen their organization and community.
