
This 2026 National Disaster Month the Lucena City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LCDRRMO) demonstrated their expertise in first aid during the City Government’s Regular Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday, July 6.
As part of the event, DRRM Officer Janet Gendrano presented the office’s accomplishments over the past years, highlighting the successful implementation of Prevention and Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery and Rehabilitation throughout Lucena City.
Gendrano also shared that the office handled over 1,074 verified emergency calls, while working closely with the Lucena Police Office (PNP) and the Lucena Fire Station (BFP) to provide emergency assistance.
Among the office key achievements, Gendrano underscored the continuous 24/7 operations of Lucena Emergency 911 Command Center, which remains the only emergency command center of its kind in the CALABARZON region.
The presentation concluded with Gendrano extending her appreciation to the office’s partner national and local government agencies, the city’s 33 barangay’s, the LCDRRMO personnel, and its volunteers for their commitment for disaster preparedness.
