On Wednesday, July 15, Following the two-day Health Convergence Budgeting Simulation and Co-Design Workshop, an initiative of the Unilab Foundation and the Ateneo School of Government (ASoG), representatives from both organizations, led by Dr. Maria Eufemia Yap, paid a courtesy visit to the office of Governor Dr. Helen Tan.
Governor Tan was shown the Health Convergence Budgeting (HCB) Workbook and the main results of the workshop by the team during the visit. The workbook is intended to assist local government entities in bettering the administration, execution, and oversight of their health-related spending. It functions as a strategic planning and budgeting tool.
The HCB Workbook seeks to strengthen local health systems by promoting the effective distribution of health funds, enhancing cooperation in health planning and budgeting procedures, and coordinating health.
Governor Dr. Helen Tan expressed gratitude to the Ateneo School of Government and the Unilab Foundation for launching this program. She emphasized how it could help the province implement the Special Health Fund (SHF) more successfully and improve the community’s access to high-quality healthcare /Mary Salcedo
