In line with the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) staged the NDRM Rescue Challenge on July 28 at Alcala’s Sports Complex in Barangay Ibabang Iyam, Lucena City.
Representatives from various Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (LDRRMOs) showcased their preparedness, speed, and technical skills through a series of competitions, including the Torch Relay, Mass Push-Up, and the Rescue Challenge Proper, where participants responded to simulated rescue scenarios and emergency response operations.
The activity aimed to further enhance the coordination, discipline, and operational readiness of rescue teams in responding to disasters and other emergencies, reinforcing the province’s commitment to public safety and disaster preparedness.
This challenge also serves as the dedication and unwavering commitment of rescue personnel to delivering prompt emergency response and safeguarding the lives of communities across the province /Hannah Amparo
