As part of the 2026 Nutrition Month Celebration with the theme “Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat! Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!”, the 11th Barangay Nutrition Scholars Convention and Nutrition Awards Ceremony was held on July 1, 2026, at the Quezon Convention Center, Lucena City. It was attended by around 1,700 BNS, BNC, PNAO, PNET, PNMC, MNC/MNAO, and MNPC members from the four districts of Quezon.
The ceremony was led by Governor Dr. Helen Tan, citing the province’s continued efforts and accomplishments in preventing malnutrition with improved nutrition programs and initiatives. She thanked the Barangay Nutrition Scholars from the bottom of her heart for their steadfast commitment as the front-line partners of the government in delivering nutrition services and implementing community-based anti-malnutrition programs.
The celebration likewise featured the Nutrition Awards Ceremony where local government agencies, nutrition partners and exemplary individuals were recognized for their outstanding commitment and excellence in implementing nutrition programs that significantly improved the nutritional status of Quezon’s citizens, especially children who need proper nutrition.
Through these kinds of programs, the Quezon Provincial Government continues to recognize and honor the invaluable contributions of every Barangay Nutrition Scholar whose dedication is crucial in building healthier communities and securing a better future for every Quezonian /Mary Salcedo
