
On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, As part of the continuing effort to enhance veterinary services and promote the safety and growth of the livestock industry in the province, the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV), under the leadership of Dr. Flomella Caguicla, convened a coordination meeting with municipal and city veterinarians, agriculturists, and livestock inspectors of Quezon.
The meeting aimed to strengthen coordination among local officials and personnel responsible for implementing animal health programs and advancing the livestock and poultry sectors across the province’s municipalities and cities.
Among the key topics discussed were the proper handling, storage, and management of veterinary medicines and biologics to ensure their quality, effectiveness, and safety.
Participants also reviewed the current status of the province’s Rabies Program, including vaccination accomplishments and strategies to further intensify anti-rabies campaigns and safeguard both residents and their pets.
The OPV likewise shared the latest updates on the programs and projects of the Livestock and Poultry Development Division and the Animal Health and Welfare Division. These initiatives focus on increasing livestock and poultry production, strengthening animal disease prevention and control measures, and promoting responsible animal ownership and welfare throughout the province.
Governor Doktora Helen Tan also attended the meeting and reaffirmed the Provincial Government’s full support for programs and projects aimed at protecting animal health and developing the livestock industry in Quezon. She emphasized that strong collaboration between the provincial and local veterinary offices is essential to ensuring the continuous delivery of quality services to farmers, livestock raisers, and other stakeholders who depend on the industry.
