
The first day of the two-day workshop of UCHP & ASOG Health Convergence Budgeting Simulation “Maximizing Local Government Fiscal Performance of Health Budget through Implementation Research and Design Thinking (Local Health Financing Budget),” was successfully conducted on Tuesday, July 14.
This activity was led by the Unilab Center for Health Policy (UCHP) in partnership with the Ateneo School of Government (ASOG), bringing the stakeholders together to strengthen local health financing and improve budget planning for healthcare services.
The activity was attended by Governor Doktora Helen Tan, together with the representatives from the Provincial Health Office (PHO), Provincial Accounting Office (PAO), Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO), and the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Office (PPDC). Representatives from various national government agencies also participated in the activity.
During the opening day of the workshop, participants engaged in discussing several key topics, including the Introduction to the Local Health Financing Report, Draft Health Convergence Budgeting (HCB) Workbook, and Status and Implementation of the Special Health Fund (SHF). The program aimed to provide insights, identify strategies, allocations, planning, and utilization of health resources.
