Angat Dam Water Level Rises by 3.7 Meters

Admin July 31, 2026 1 min read

Angat Dam’s water level has increased by 3.7 meters, yet it remains below the reservoir’s critical level of 160 meters. The data from the Bulacan disaster risk reduction and management office revealed that as of 2 p.m. Angat’s elevation increased to 154.56 metres yesterday, up from 150.86 meters the day before.

The elevation remains at 25.44 meters below Angat’s minimum operating level of 180 meters, and 57.44 meters below its normal high water level during the rainy season.

Previously, the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System informed water districts in Bulacan that the MWSS’ current supply of 260 million liters per day (MLD) will be reduced to 145 MLD once the water level at Angat Dam drops to 150 meters.
The Executive Director of the National Water Resources Board, Sevillo David Jr., confirmed to The Star that Angat Dam’s current approved water allocation for MWSS is 46 cubic meters per second.

The MWSS oversees its water allocation from Angat for Metro Manila and neighboring provinces, as well as from other sources such as deep wells, Laguna de Bay water treatment plants, and the La Mesa and Ipo dams /Phoemella Contreras
